What’s the best way to study English?
Many students ask me this question. It is difficult to answer. But, I think that there are 3 keys:
1. You must invest time in your study. Once a week in your English class is not enough. You have to make time every day, if possible to study English. I suggest that you set aside a certain time, and study English at that time
2. You must USE English. It sounds simple, but you must try to use English as much as possible. Of course, the best way is to use your English with someone else. But, if you can’t, then you can use it by yourself. Sometimes, only using English in your head is a good way to get this done. For example, when you are riding your bicycle, you can think of saying some English words and sentences in your head.
3. Stay motivated. If you don’t have time to study for a while, don’t let yourself forget about your study. Get back into it whenever you can. Also, find something you like that is English. Some people have a favorite musician. Find the lyrics to your favorite musicians songs, and study those once in a while. If you like American TV dramas, choose a short scene or even just a sentence from your favorite drama every week, and study that.
Most of all, have fun. Don’t think of it as work, just think of it like you are having fun.
